Angel's Rest Hike - January 2015 - Part 6

On our way back down, I decided to stop along the river/stream that you cross. I think I stop there every time, just so pretty! The last image is from Crown Point. Mocha, and I beat the rain on our hike. But by the time we got to Crown Point, it was rainy, and so cloudy. Still had to stop for a photo, the Gorge has that effect on me! Hope you enjoyed this week's posts on Angel's Rest!

Angel's Rest Hike - January 2015 - Part 4

We made it to the top! Looking back towards Devil's Rest, I love all those rocks! Then, Mocha proud we made it to the top! It has the perfect places to rest and eat lunch or a snack at the top! But, mind you it can get really busy on nice days.

Angel's Rest Hike - January 2015 - Part 3

This time of year really shows off all the dead trees along the hike. I think they have their own beauty, but I do love it when the other trees get leaves. Like I said, the views are amazing!

Angel's Rest Hike - January 2015 - Part 2

Funny, how all the good images of, Mocha, are all in a row. So today is dedicated to Mocha! She's such a trooper on hikes, despite being 8 or 9 years old. All through the hikes we go on, she keeps up really well. If she didn't have so much grey, you would never know shes not a puppy. Most of the time she has good trail manners, but sometimes......she forgets. She likes to walk on the left side of the trail sometimes, I've been trying to teach her to get over when people are coming. She's catching on pretty well :) She definitely loves going on hikes though, and is getting better at being my model!

Angel's Rest Hike - January 2015 - Part 1

My dog, Mocha and I hiked to Angel's Rest back on January 10th. This is one of my favorite hikes in the Gorge. Not many other hikes have this view, over 180 degree view of the Gorge. It is incredible, I highly recommend it, if you have never hiked it. Just over 4 miles round trip, this hike is moderately challenging. But, well worth your time and effort. Over the next week, you will see why :)

Song and Photograph of the Week - August 5, 2014

August already?! Didn't post this yesterday due to a crazy busy day of nannying. By the time I got home around 7:20, I just wanted to chill. My day started out with cleaning a garage floor covered in dog vomit, getting the boys ready, having one ready to be picked up to go to a gymnastics camp, then taking the other one with me to the vet with the sick dog, and guess what?! He threw up in my car on the way home! So, I had to clean that when we got to the house, and from there it was just a super busy day with driving, and running around. But I do love being a nanny!

Song of the week? I haven't really been listening to a ton of music lately. While editing, sometimes I like to watch movies. So this week will be movie of the week I guess :) I went on a movie watching marathon, almost all the summer crush ABC movies! My favorite, if you can call it that was Lovestruck: The Musical. If you don't know how cheesy ABC movies are....haha you should definitely watch one and find out!

This past Friday I went on a beast of a hike. I didn't realize how much of an elevation gain 1300 ft in 1 mile is.......yeah, it sucked. BUT, the view at the top was amazing. The hike was Mitchell Point, it is at exit 58 right before Hood River. If you have hiked Angels Rest, the elevation gain for Mitchell Point is about 100 feet less gain than Angels Rest. Mind you to the top of Angels Rest, it is 2.4 miles. So imagine twice as steep and you have Mitchell Point. I was telling my friend I took on the hike with me, that I wanted to recommend it to everyone, and watch them die hiking it :P I decided just to warn you all not to do it unless you are in amazing shape, or want to have your legs burning the whole time. The image I want to show you, its too big. It's about a 270 degree view of the Gorge. You can see it HERE! Go check it out!!!

Song of the Week - June 23, 2014

You get a double post today! Finally got all the photos from a hike up to Angel's Rest done. You can see that HERE.

Yesterday I was using Spotify's Discover tab, and got recommended to listen to The Cab. They are similar to Parachute, I've posted about a song from them. I think a favorite song from The Cab would be something off their newest album Lock Me Up. This album came out this year, with only 5 songs....booo! But Stand Up is the song of the week. Give it a listen, it's pretty catchy!

Angel's Rest Hike 2014

On May 12th, I got to go hiking with a friend to the top of Angel's Rest. It is such a great hike, 4.8mi round trip with lots of scenery changes. Not the safest at the top for young children, due to the fact its a cliff, with nothing to keep you from falling. But, it is gorgeous at the top! You get a 270 degree view of the Columbia Gorge! This time hiking it was longer and steeper than I remember, maybe it's because I am out of shape? :P It was fun regardless! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

She's so happy to be out hiking with me!

And some smaller panoramas! Coming once I get my new external hard drive :D
